Tilstedeværelse - Presence

Tilstedeværelse is a series of oil paintings examining how the body responds when control is no longer certain. The work originates from a specific moment in a winter landscape — cold, altitude, risk — where physical conditions stripped away habitual orientation and forced a different kind of attention.

Rather than depicting that experience, the paintings transfer its structure onto the picture plane. Through deliberate use of value, layering and displacement, each work establishes its own degree of stability or instability. The viewer's eye must recalibrate, slowly.

A concentrated, muted pictorial space where weight and resistance produce a sense of being grounded.

Tilstedeværelse II – Luft (2026) 130 x 185 cm 2026

A lighter, more open field where small displacements create an experience of unstable orientation.

Tilstedeværelse III – Tyngdekraft (2026) 160 x 150 cm 2026

A darker, more layered work that gathers the movements of the series — examining what it means to return after intense concentration.
