Sanita Balode
Sanita Balode is a visual artist based in western Norway, working primarily in abstract painting. Her work captures the tension of stepping beyond safety, revealing how moments of danger can transform into life’s most powerful affirmations.
Rather than depicting places, her paintings evoke states of being.
She explores the instinct that drives us toward speed, falling, and risk—not as a surrender of control, but as a way of discovering the self. Through abstraction, her work invites viewers to pause, sense, and uncover new perspectives.
Sanita holds an MA in Fine Arts from the Art Academy of Latvia and has been a practicing artist since her graduation in 2002.
